I'll overwhelm 'credible fighter' Jake Paul - Joshua
The British boxer prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-bout fight which will be streamed live on the streaming platform.
Briton Anthony Joshua stated he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "defeat" the American as the combatants met personally to build hype for next month's heavyweight fight.
Former twice world title holder Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a mammoth uneven pairing - at Miami's venue on 19 December.
Fighter's Mentality
"I will break his face and damage his physique. My goal is to show I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35, declared.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I intend to genuinely try to injure him. That's my goal."
Respectful Exchange
In spite of such comments, a calm Joshua and social media star Paul - normally recognized for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and maintained decorum with each other.
Jake Paul rather attacked former Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and labeled him "not serious" after Ngannou rejected a bout proposal.
Targeting Fury
Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, criticized British opponent Tyson Fury - and declined a large bet 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a Paul win.
"[Paul] outshines Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua stated.
"I acknowledge that."
Legitimate Opponent
In spite of saying he intends to punish Paul, Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his rival's boxing ability.
"Jake is a credible opponent," he said.
Paul's History
Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has mainly fought mixed martial artists or faded names since becoming pro.
He lost to Briton Fury in 2023.
Financial Attraction
Still, the inexperienced fighter is still one of the sport's largest financial successes, consistently making massive earnings.
Forecast and Confidence
The 28-year-old forecast a knockout win in the fourth or fifth round and stated he would stop the long-awaited JoshuaâFury fight, which is reportedly under discussion for 2026.
"The next fight will be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul said.
Size Disparity
As Joshua and Paul participated in the customary stare-down, with their height and weight contrast evident, it drove home just how surprising this entire matchup is - and how amazing it is that the fight is actually happening.
